Started in 1982, DEPCO (Dependable Education Products Company) was introduced as a manufacturers' representative organization, which represented manufacturers of vocational education products. Seeing that there were gaps in the technology education market, DEPCO introduced its own curriculum in 1991 blending careers and technology. Through the years, DEPCO has introduced new curriculum centered around science; business, marketing, and information technology (IT); careers and technology; family and consumer sciences (FACS); manufacturing; and pre-engineering.

DEPCO maintains an innovative, student-driven focus utilizing an interactive approach to learning activities. Learning retention is maximized through the use of hands-on activities, rather than relying solely on textbook exclusive memorization.

DEPCO's success is directly related to the success of the instructors utilizing our curriculum. Our unparalleled training, service, support, and flexible learning environments ensure that instructors have all the resources required to help students reach their maximum potential.

Product and Services

DEPCO develops and markets educational curriculum for K-12 and the post-secondary market. Product topics include science; business, marketing, and IT; careers and technology; family and consumer sciences; and industrial automation and preengineering. The educational market has demanded these products and DEPCO responded by creating some of the most robust curriculum on the market.

Once the curriculum and the components were developed, DEPCO detected a need for modular furniture for the classroom. Nothing on the market was able to properly hold the DEPCO curriculum and components. Additionally, modular-style learning units are the tools for instructors who desire efficient, structured classroom learning activities for their students. Therefore, in 1992, DEPCO constructed a manufacturing facility to produce modular units. With the addition of this facility, DEPCO is able to meet the needs of school districts and control the product quality of the modular furniture. The addition of the modular furniture allowed DEPCO to offer a complete package to school districts.

A core component of DEPCO curriculum is the Student Workbook. This workbook is exclusively developed by DEPCO and is not available from any other source. The curriculum has been carefully designed with both the student and the instructor in mind. Each workbook is based on a 5, 10, 15, or 20 day activity rotation. The curriculum is produced to meet the SCANS, as well as individual state competency requirements.

Accurate and timely answers to questions are priceless to the teacher and to the success of any technology program. DEPCO is committed to providing the best technical support, bar none. The full time staff of experienced technicians is only a phone call away, available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST each business day on a toll-free support line.

Professional Staff

DEPCO has assembled a repertoire of educational professionals that inspire the unique organization that makes DEPCO unique in its field. The accumulated knowledge and expertise of the staff has proved to be an invaluable resource to school systems throughout the country. The warm, friendly help rendered by the staff to teachers and administrators is a trademark of this professionalism.

Training and In-service

Centrally located in the nation, Pittsburg, KS has been ideal for the in-service training offered by DEPCO. The impressive training facility exemplifies the model in technology classrooms. Whether it is Technology In-service, FACS, AgriScience, Mastercam, or Autodesk Product workshops, the same degree of commitment to professionalism is given.

DEPCO understands the need for school districts to be economical. That's only good business, and as a business, DEPCO maintains that same responsibility, but never at the expense of quality. That would tamper with the future of the nation and the leaders of tomorrow's industry. The principle of value is summed up in this statement, "Never sacrifice the permanent on the altar of the temporary."
